WHO:         The Federal Hockey League (FHL)

  

WHAT:      Single A-level professional hockey league emphasizing strong local ownership, high-quality competition and affordable family entertainment. The league is also focused on player development and opportunities, as individuals seek to advance their pro careers.

 

WHERE:    Charter teams:

·        Rome, NY

·        Danbury, CT

·        Thousand Islands, NY (south of Ontario, Canada)

·        Akwesasne Indian Reservation 

 

WHEN:      Tentative schedule of events:

·        Talent evaluation will begin immediately

·        Free agent camp during late summer in Syracuse 

·        League play will start in November, 2010

·        Playoffs in March, 2011

 

TEAMS:    League will unveil team names, colors and logos as follows:

·        Dec. 29, 2009: Danbury

·        Jan.   6, 2010: Thousand Islands

·        Jan.  13, 2010: Rome

·        March 4, 2010 : Akwesasne
