Demonz Dominate the Bluefins
By Robert Kirchner
(Dayton, Ohio) Tonight's game was the 2nd of back to back games here at Hara Arena between the Dayton Demonz and the New York Bluefins. Last night the Demonz defeated the Bluefins 12-3. Dayton's offensive power was lead by Seth Ronsberg's Hat Trick and a score of other Demonz. Tonight's game was no different with a final score of Dayton 12 and New York 1. The Demonz were lead by Luke Flieck's 4 goals, James Sanford's Hat Trick and Jason Hill's 2 goals.
As the saying goes "Let the Giant Sleep", it may have been wise for the Bluefins not to wake the sleeping giant. Unfortunately for the New York Bluefins they made the mistake by making too much noise, as they woke the giant of the Federal Hockey League, the Dayton Demonz.
Even after Radoslav Konecny spotted New York an early 1-0 Bluefins lead, the Demonz were content to play a clean game. Dayton responded quickly, Jason Hill and Marcus Pryde scored a minute later, with back to back goals, seconds apart to make it 2-1 Demonz.
Midway through the period Jason Hill added his 2nd goal, breaking through slot with a wrist shot from the hash marks and into the Bluefins net (3-1).
The completion of the game would change, when Demonz leader, and Team Captain Jesse Felton was cross-checked by New York's Tristan Lysko, with 5 minutes left in the period. Felton responded with a convincing victory over his challenger. However, the rest of the Demonz did not take well to their leader being abused. Instead of responding physically, the Demonz retaliated on the scoreboard. Dayton would put on another offensive clinic, as seen the night before. Showing no mercy this time around, the Demonz applied relentless pressure on the hapless Bluefins. Luke Flieck and James Sanford's goals would make it 5-1 Demonz at the end of the first intermission.
With their Captain back, Dayton came out flying in the 2nd, scoring less than 2 minutes into the period, on a goal by Luke Flieck, who would end up with his 4th goal of the game by the end of the period. James Sanford would add his 2nd goal of the evening, and Ryan Wiley would join them to make it a 10-1 Demonz lead, the horn was probably music to the ears of the Bluefins.
In the 3rd period if not for the New York goaltender, it would have been much worse. James Sanford would add his 3rd goal of the game (Hat Trick) to increase Dayton's lead 11-1, with 5 minutes to play in the contest. Brayden Metz goal with over a minute left in the game made it 12-1 as Dayton won its 22nd game of the season.
Sunday the Demonz welcome the 2nd place Williamsport Outlaws to Hara Arena with a start time at 4pm.
